After receiving their complete COVID vaccine and booster shots, many Americans are eager to begin making vacation arrangements. And nations are once more welcoming to travelers from abroad, usually with lower entry requirements for those who have completed their vaccinations. While some places, like Greece and Iceland, have welcomed travelers with vaccinations for the majority of the previous year, others, like Australia and Morocco, are only starting to reopen.

However, there are still many factors to take into account before choosing to move to a different region of the world, particularly as the Omicron variation spreads and new versions like Deltacron continue to arise. Avoid travel to nations with high infection rates, low vaccination rates, and overburdened medical facilities for the time being in consideration of the health and safety of local populations. These are all variables that can change quickly. The CDC periodically updates its destination-specific travel advice list, which divides nations into four risk categories (low, moderate, high, and extremely high) based on their local COVID-19 risk levels.

In light of these factors, we've compiled a list of some places that are now open and accepting vaccinated travelers without a quarantine need. Travelers should constantly check the CDC website, as well as the official government websites of their destination country, before and during any journey because travel advice is subject to change. Additionally, you might want to think about getting travel insurance. All of the nations listed below mandate that visitors adhere to national public health regulations in addition to requirements regarding COVID-19 vaccination and testing.

NEWLY OPENED COUNTRIES

AUSTRALIA

U.S. visitors who have received their vaccinations can go to Australia once more. Visitors are also required to present a negative PCR test result within three days of departure or a fast antigen test result within 24 hours, in addition to vaccination documentation. Passengers are required to fill out a digital passenger declaration form.

Only those who request and are approved for an exemption may enter the country without the required vaccinations.

Additionally, each Australian state and territory has different regulations for visitors. Sydney's home state of New South Wales requires immunized international passengers to check in immediately, perform a quick self-test, and then wait for a negative result before moving around freely, for example. International visitors who have received vaccinations are required to take a quick or antigen test within 24 hours of landing in Victoria, which is home to Melbourne, and then isolate at their hotel while they wait for a negative response. Travelers must also have documentation of the negative test result and their vaccination for the duration of the next seven days in Victoria.

PAPA NEW GUINEA

Visits to the island nation of Papua New Guinea are once more permitted for vaccinated Americans. A negative COVID test result from within 72 hours of departure is required, along with confirmation of vaccination and completion of an online health declaration form. Upon arrival, travellers must test at their own expense.

THE PHILIPPINES

Vaccinated Americans are not required to quarantine themselves when visiting the Philippines, but they must present a negative PCR result obtained within 48 hours after departure. Travelers must also take a test when they arrive, wait for the results at their hotel, then take another test on the third day of their stay.
